    Product Description

    Brief Description

FR406 and FR408 are high-performance laminate materials used in the fabrication of printed circuit boards (PCBs). They are known for their superior thermal and electrical properties, making them ideal for demanding applications in telecommunications, aerospace, and high-speed digital circuits. Both FR406 and FR408 offer excellent mechanical strength, reliability, and long-term performance, ensuring that your electronic devices operate efficiently and dependably under various conditions.

    FR406 PCB:

Material Composition: FR406 is a high Tg (glass transition temperature) material with a Tg of approximately 170°C. It provides excellent thermal stability and is suitable for applications requiring high-temperature resistance.

Applications: Commonly used in high-frequency and high-speed applications, such as RF (radio frequency) circuits, telecommunications, and automotive electronics.

    FR408 PCB:

Material Composition: FR408 offers a higher Tg of around 180°C, providing even better thermal performance and stability than FR406. It is designed for applications requiring extremely high reliability and performance.

Applications: Ideal for high-speed digital applications, advanced computing, aerospace, and other industries where signal integrity and thermal management are critical.

    Electrical Characteristics

    FR406 PCB:

Dielectric Constant (Dk): The dielectric constant of FR406 is typically around 4.1 at 1 MHz, which ensures good signal integrity and performance in high-frequency applications.

Dissipation Factor (Df): The dissipation factor is approximately 0.016 at 1 MHz, indicating low signal loss and efficient energy transfer.

Volume Resistivity: The volume resistivity of FR406 is greater than 1 x 10^9 MΩ-cm, providing excellent insulation and preventing electrical leakage.

Surface Resistivity: The surface resistivity is greater than 1 x 10^8 MΩ, ensuring reliable performance in humid or harsh environments.

Thermal Coefficient of Dielectric Constant (TCDk): The TCDk of FR406 is stable over a wide temperature range, ensuring consistent electrical performance even under varying thermal conditions.

    FR408 PCB:

Dielectric Constant (Dk): FR408 offers a dielectric constant of around 3.7 at 1 GHz, making it suitable for high-speed digital circuits where maintaining signal integrity is crucial.

Dissipation Factor (Df): The dissipation factor of FR408 is approximately 0.009 at 1 GHz, indicating very low signal loss and high efficiency in high-frequency applications.

Volume Resistivity: The volume resistivity of FR408 exceeds 1 x 10^9 MΩ-cm, ensuring excellent insulation properties and preventing electrical leakage.

Surface Resistivity: The surface resistivity is greater than 1 x 10^8 MΩ, providing reliable performance in various environmental conditions.

Thermal Coefficient of Dielectric Constant (TCDk): FR408 has a low TCDk, ensuring minimal variation in dielectric constant with temperature changes, which is essential for maintaining signal integrity in high-speed and high-frequency circuits.

Both FR406 and FR408 PCBs are designed to meet the stringent requirements of modern electronic applications, providing robust electrical performance, thermal stability, and mechanical reliability. These materials ensure that your PCBs deliver superior performance, longevity, and efficiency in a wide range of demanding environments.
