    PCB board layout method

After the entire circuit board design is completed, the PCB circuit board needs to be SMT mounted with components. Each SMT processing factory will determine the most suitable size for the circuit board according to the processing requirements of the assembly line. For example, if the size is too small or too large, the fixtures that fix the circuit board on the assembly line cannot be fixed. So the question is, what if the size of our circuit board itself is smaller than the size specified by the factory? That means we need to assemble the circuit boards together, combining multiple circuit boards into a single piece. Splicing can significantly improve efficiency for both high-speed surface mount machines and wave soldering.

It is easy to separate multiple boards during assembly to avoid damaging the circuit board during separation. Determine which assembly method to use based on the shape of the single type of board you are assembling. The main ways of PCB layout are V-CUT, punching groove, and stamp hole. The size of the spliced board cannot be too large or too small. Generally, very small boards can be spliced for processing or for easy welding.

      1. PCB panel assembly method - V-CUT

V-CUT refers to the ability to combine and splice several boards or the same board together, and then use a V-CUT machine to cut a V-shaped groove between the boards after PCB processing, which can be opened during use. It is a popular way nowadays.

      2. PCB panel assembly method - punching groove

Punching groove refers to milling holes between boards or inside boards as needed with a milling machine, which is equivalent to digging them out.

      3. PCB panel assembly method - stamp hole

The so-called stamp use refers to the use of very small holes to connect the plates together, which looks like the sawtooth shape on the stamp, so it is called stamp hole connection. Stamp hole links require high control burrs around the edges between boards, meaning only a few stamp holes can be used instead of V-lines.
