Functional testing is carried out to ensure that the assembled PCB meets the required electrical and performance specifications. This may involve testing the power supply, signal integrity, and the operation of various circuits and functions. Additionally, conformal coating may be applied to protect the PCB from environmental factors such as moisture, dust, and temperature extremes. PCB assembly requires a coordinated effort between engineering, production, and quality control teams to produce high-quality electronic assemblies that can be used in a wide range of applications, from consumer electronics to industrial control systems and telecommunications equipment.
